Casa Corazón de la Tortuga is an amazing villa located on Akumal´s beach where turtles nest annually. The owner is completely submerged into taking care of the turtles which I think its great! She offers night vision glasses for those interested in turtle night nesting gazing.

Villa de Valhalla offers the finest of all amenities, spacious areas, tropical vegetation, wireless connection, hammocks, sundecks, BBQ grill, gym, gourmet kitchen, the finest house bar, central air-conditioned and a unique rooftop patio.

It´s a tough decision to rent a villa in akumal since almost every villa offers first class accommodations, amenities, style, service and staff.

Bellamar for example offers almost the same as Corazón de la Tortuga but its style is better aconditioned for the beach. Bellamar is truly a beach Akumal villa unlike Casa Corazón de la Tortuga.

I wouldn´t know which one to offer is you asked me, the variety is endless and every villa has something to offer. Like Casa Caleta for example, it has a private entrance to Yalku lagoon plus it has lovely outdoor showers where you literally sunshower on your daily shower, the showers have thick wood sticks that serve as walls, white stone as floors and a blue sky as ceilings. You´re probably picturing a very hippie shower here, but you´ll amazed by the elegance and style of every space and detail of this Akumal villa including the showers.

If you´re looking to rent any of the top class Akumal villas I would recommend to closely look for Villa de Valhalla, Yardena, Caleta, Maravilla and Palmilla before making a decision.

I really like playing with the app called Babyface. It is a “baby appearance predictor”. Meaning, it creates a full color graphic of what your baby may look like :).

Now, this is for fun so don’t be surprised if it isn’t accurate. The app has an amazingly scientific explanation behind the technology which is supposed to generate the babyface… despite that mumbojumbo, it is a lot of fun.

NameShake is an app I really love. It has over 19,000 names and, the coolest part, you just set a few parameters, shake your iPhone and, voila, out pops a cool baby name you never would have thought of.  

My husband loves it too. We bought a few baby name books but this app is really all we needed.

Obviously, there are a bunch of fantastic pregnancy apps. These are just the 3 I played with the most.
